Exercise Physiologist

As an exercise physiologist at Care Forward, you will use a wellness approach with clients who want to improve their functionality. This may be related to an acute or chronic condition, age, or after injury. You'll conduct intake assessments, develop custom exercise programs with your clients, and deliver services promoting recovery and rehabilitation.
Your role will involve developing progressive exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, or circulatory function. Inspire client confidence and motivate them to participate in individual activities and group programs while monitoring and documenting client progress.

You will do
- Prescribe exercise and support clients' behaviour change to help them manage their health independently.
- Create goal-oriented programs with clients to work towards their rehabilitation or recovery and document progress.
- Help participants improve their strength, flexibility, endurance, or circulatory functions.
- Demonstrate how to complete exercise routines and use the equipment correctly.
- Inspire client confidence and motivation to participate in activities.
- Liaise with referral agencies, service providers, consumers, families and support networks to ensure the best client outcomes.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement, referrals, and promotion of the company's programs.
You need to have
- Current registration with ESSA as an accredited exercise physiologist
- Self-drive to continually learn and improve in your role
- Excellent relationship, team building, and communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities, even in high-pressure situations
- A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19
- An up-to-day first aid and CPR certificate.
Ideally, you also have
- Demonstrable experience in providing evidence-based clinical assessment and planning appropriate interventions for clients with chronic or complex conditions
- Comprehensive understanding of community-based service provision
